Yema: A French Horological Adventure

Founded in 1948 by Henry Louis Belmont, Yema is a French watch brand that has set itself apart through its innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship. One of Yema's first successes was the creation of the Yema Superman in 1963, a diver's watch water-resistant to 300 meters. This model quickly became a must-have for professional divers and water sports enthusiasts alike. The Superman's distinguishing feature is its bezel block, a Yema-patented innovation that prevents the rotating bezel from accidentally moving underwater. Today, this model remains a benchmark in the world of vintage diving watches.

The Conquest of Space

In 1982, Yema made history by becoming the first French watch brand to send a watch into space. The Yema Spationaut I accompanied astronaut Jean-Loup Chrétien on his space mission aboard the Saliout 7 space station. This model was specially designed to withstand the extreme conditions of space, reinforcing Yema's reputation for robustness and precision.
