Omega Speedmaster Reduced: The compact alternative to the Moonwatch:
Launched at the end of the 1980s, the Omega Speedmaster Reduced is a more compact alternative to the legendary Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. With a 39 mm case, it is designed to offer the same sporty chronograph spirit, but in a more accessible and comfortable format on the wrist.
Equipped with the Omega 3220 caliber, based on an ETA 2892-A2 movement with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module, the Speedmaster Reduced stands out from the Moonwatch with a different mechanical architecture. Unlike its big sister, equipped with a manual movement, it operates with an automatic winding, making its use more practical for everyday life.
Its design remains faithful to the emblematic codes of the Speedmaster, with a black dial, luminous indexes, a tachymetric bezel, and a counter arrangement reminiscent of the Moonwatch. However, the position of the sub-dials is slightly different due to the chronograph module.
Produced until the early 2000s, the Speedmaster Reduced has become a model sought after by collectors. Its combination of classic design, automatic movement, and more contained dimensions makes it an ideal alternative for those who want the DNA of a Speedmaster in a more versatile format.
